History

New Ferolle is located 11 kilometres from Reef's Harbour junction of Route 430. It separates St. Margaret's Bay from St. John's Bay. Across the water there is a great view of the Long Range Mountains which makes it scenic and peaceful.

New Ferolle is well known for its lighthouse built in 1912. The lighthouse was serviced by the Beaudon family of New Ferolle for three generations, until the lighthouse became automated in June 1992. At this time the tradition of the lighthouse keeper was lost.
