History
River of Ponds derives its name from the river which runs from a number of ponds in the area. It is a scheduled Salmon River, famous for its salmon and trout.
River of Ponds Provincial Park provides summer recreation and is one of the most popular parks in the region. As is the case of most communities in the area, berry pickers would find a paradise nearby, with raspberries, blueberries, partridgeberries, bakeapples, gooseberries, marshberries, and dogberries in season. The seashore is an interesting part of River of Ponds as well. From the boat landing you can get a fantastic view of Blue Mountain. Make a stop and enjoy River of Ponds!
