History
St. Barbe is located at the end of the zone seven district. The community has a large business sector, and offers many services to both residents and tourists. It is the dock for the Strait of Belle Isle ferry, the Northern Cruiser that crosses from St. Barbe to Blanc Sablon Labrador.
St. Barbe has the only recreational arena in the area, and many events are held there such as broomball, skating, and the Straits Minor Hockey weekly practices and games.
St. Barbe has been the home to the Straits Summer Festival for many years, and it is a tradition that the residents and organizers should be proud of.
